Dog Day Afternoon

The Bourbonnais Township Park District knows how important dogs are to their families and this special event is just for them.

Booths with all the experts will be available to answer any questions you might have about your dog.

Prizes, raffles, free gifts, and doggie treats of all kinds will be on hand for your dog. There will be games and activities of all sorts for you and your dog to participate in. Don’t miss out on some of our event favorites such as the Dog Costume Contest, Best trick Contest, Dog Play/agility Area and the Doggie Treat Hunt. 

Ages: All ages are welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Times: 10:00-2:00 p.m.
Location: Perry Farm Park, 459 N Kennedy Drive
Bourbonnais, IL 60914
Fee: $2 per person and dogs get in free!

Rules

All dogs must be controlled on a leash six feet long or less. Retractable leashes are allowed as long as they are locked at six feet or less.

All animal waste must be pick-up and disposed of in a waste receptacle. Plastic baggies are available at no charge at the event front gate.

All dogs must be healthy and up to date on shots to participate at Dog Day Afternoon.  

Unruly or aggressive dogs will be asked to leave the park.

Please remember to comply with the park's mandatory leash law and waste removal rules.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Dog Day Raffle

While you are at Dog Day Afternoon please stop by the raffle table next to the demo area. Every year we get fun dog related items that we raffle off. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Winners do not need to be present to win and winners will be picked throughout the event; all prizes must be picked up at Dog Day by 3:00 p.m. or prizes will be available for pick-up at the Recreation Station on 770 E. Franklin Street in Bradley, Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

10:15 a.m.- Face Painting- Gazebo

11:00 a.m- Doggie Costume Contest - Demo Area

11:30 a.m.- K9 Demonstration- Demo Area

12:00 p.m.- Best Trick Contest- Demo Area

12:30 p.m. - Singing Competition - Demo Area

1:00 p.m. - Doggie Fashion Show- Demo Area

1:45 p.m.- The Great Doggie Treat Hunt at rope fence North of Pavilion -Roped Field

Event times are subject to change. All contests are open to the public and registrations are taken at the Raffle/Registration tent next to the demonstration area the day of the event.

Fishing piers at the Willowhaven Park are closed until further notice.

Hamilton tickets are currently sold out !  Participants interested on getting on the waitlist can contact the district office at (815) 933-9905 ext 2 and get signed up at no charge to be on the waitlist. If tickets would become available, park district staff would contact participants from the waitlist to stop in and pay for tickets and to complete the registration process as spots open up.

Update: We will be hosting our Euchre Party 55+ program every Thursday at the Bourbonnais Municipal Center from 12-2:45 pm. Program is $2 / residents receive a $1 discount and pre-registration is not required.
