About Exploration Station

Exploration Station...a children's museum is a hands-on exploration and discovery museum for children and their families, teachers and other caregivers.

Children of all ages are welcome at the museum, however, the majority of the exhibits are designed for children between the ages of 2-8 years old. There is a toddler area for the little ones, children 36” and under are allowed in the toddler area.

You and your child/children can embark on an exciting and enriching experience at Exploration Station...a children's museum. Our Museum offers new and progressive ways to learn.

Here the focus is on exploring, not on learning facts or content.


How to get the most out of your visit

Interact with your child. Don't worry about doing something "wrong". The museum is designed to have an atmosphere of exploration. Don't try to see everything on our first visit. Follow your children to what interests them.

What Kids Learn

Socialization, problem solving, conflict resolution, career role play, as well as fine and gross motor skills.


Remember

Although the museum is a hands-on experience, children must be guided to recognize the difference between freedom to explore and freedom to do whatever they choose. It is important to emphasize good social skills and respect for other visitors and museum property.

LEGAL NOTICE

NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF AUDIT REPORT OF THE BOURBONNAIS TOWNSHIP PARK DISTRICT

Bourbonnais Township Park District hereby provides public notice that an audit of its funds for the fiscal period of May 1, 2016 through April 30, 2017 has been completed by the accounting firm of Groskruetz, Schmidt, Abraham, Eshleman & Gerretse LLC, and that a copy of such audit dated November 17, 2017 has been filed with the County Clerk of Kankakee, in accordance with 30 ILCS 15/0.01. The full report of the audit is available for public inspection at the administrative office of the Park District, 459 N. Kennedy Drive, Bourbonnais, IL 60914 during regular business hours 8:30 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The report is also available on the park district’s website www.btpd.org
