About the Park District
Established in 1986, the Bourbonnais Township Park District has 4 parks offering over 379 acres of open space, playgrounds, ball fields, ponds and trails. We offer a variety of seasonal programs, including dance, youth sports, karate, golf, preschool basketball league, art, fitness, culinary, trips, day camps and much more. In addition, we host over 12 annual events, many free to the public.

Administration and Policy
The board shall set policy and the staff will be expected to carry it out.
Financial and Taxes
Be fiscally responsible – maximizing the use of available tax dollars – take advantage of grants, non-taxable funding and partnerships. The Board and Staff will budget and spend money wisely.
Recreation Programs
A balanced recreation program offering will serve all owners of the district. Quality service and instruction will be offered in every recreation program.
Facility Development and Maintenance
Facilities will not be built unless they are of the highest quality. The level of maintenance of all parks and facilities will be a hallmark of the district.
Communication with Owners
Keeping our users informed of our decisions and direction is of paramount importance. The owners and taxpayers will be used for input in the district’s planning process.
Park District Employees
Employees will be expected to perform at a level that will place the users’ needs as their top priority.
